Leek Moth (Acrolepiopsis assectella)
Leek Moth (Acrolepiopsis assectella) larvae feed on a variety of members of the Liliaceae family but leek (Allium porrum)
is preferred. Other hosts include onion (Allium cepa var. cepa), chives (Allium schoenoprasum), garlic (Allium sativum)
and Shallot (Allium cepa var. aggregatum).
The pest is distributed in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Ontario, Québec, Canada.
In 2007 in cooperation with Ohio State University Extension 10 production fields in the Celeryville, OH. area were
surveyed for leek moth. No detections were made.
